Devin Jakob Trakney, Architectural Designer

11/10/2020
For Devin Trakney, architecture is about building a narrative that connects people and places. He sees his work as an agent of positive change, and is passionate about applied design that prioritizes the wellbeing of users. Devin credits his father, a contractor, with reinforcing his early interest in construction and design. Devin excels both as a leader and creative. A graduate of Temple University, he completed his BS and Masters degrees in Architecture while leading the university’s Architecture Lobby Organization as vice president and earning a certification in photography. Devin is also interested in psychology, and spent his last year of college researching the relationships between nature, architecture, and wellness. “I think the greatest way to improve our cities is by designing with the user in mind,” says Devin. “And by realizing that design can create a lasting impact even when our work is done.” Devin’s work is defined by a holistic approach

Jasmine Zhang, Architectural Designer

10/24/2020
Jasmine Zhang is a talented student at Drexel University's hands-on Bachelor of Architecture 2+4 Program and an invaluable part of the Morrissey Design team. Inspired by her multicultural past and entrepreneurial spirit, she sees architecture as an embodiment of the social nature of people, and uses her collaborative drive to help support clients and organize the operations of the firm. As a first-generation college-bound student, Jasmine discovered her passion for architecture while touring gothic and historic college campuses. But she credits her social design approach to experiences growing up in Northeast Philadelphia, in a large household, as the daughter of Chinese immigrants. "This is when I realized how architecture can shape and improve the social experiences of people and their definition of home," she says. Jasmine graduated summa cum laude from high school as a WesGold Fellow, part of a professional development, finance, real estate, and entrepreneurship
